Desiderius was born a dark bay, but turned black-liver, like most of the Donnermeyer foals. He loves people, running around and giving hugs and kisses. He stood 11 hands at 3 weeks, and is easy to handle, standing well to be trimmed, wormed and blanketed.

This pic was taken with a cell phone, during one of his first training sessions in April, 2007.

Here, it is easier to see his conformation and color, during a training session, May of 2007.

2010: Desiderius wins 3rd place Open Dressage: USDF Year-End Awards

2011: Reserve Champion First Level Maiden with 68%: NEW Dressage Association

Desiderius' dam has had two other full siblings to him. See Moose and Dark Chocolate.

Desiderius is the horse most requested by Steffen Peters, Dressage Silver Medalist in the 1996 Olympic Games & Clinician, when he is in the area giving clinics. He is now being used as a School Master and lesson horse. Below you can see a video of him being ridden by a novice, while taking a dressage lesson (2014).
